The production and consumption of goods and services affect the climate, the environment, and people. Goal 12 focuses on promoting sustainable consumption and production patterns, including through the efficient use of resources.

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time. Measures to combat climate change and its impacts are needed to create the conditions for poverty reduction and long-term sustainable development.

Oceans and marine resources must be protected and used sustainably in order to preserve biodiversity and fish stocks, and to strengthen resilience to climate change.

Goal 15 focuses on healthy ecosystems, with an emphasis on conserving and restoring natural habitats and halting biodiversity loss.
