– a hub for research and experimental work

BalticWaters Fish Laboratory creates new opportunities for researchers, companies, and organizations seeking to test and develop methods for sustainable aquaculture, as well as to contribute to the recovery of threatened fish species in the Baltic Sea. The laboratory facilitates both publicly and privately funded research in areas such as fish ecology, ecophysiology, and aquaculture.

But what can actually be found inside the facility? We asked Mats Anderling, Operations Manager at BalticWaters Fish Laboratory, what researchers can expect when conducting their work at the laboratory.

– Those who come here to carry out research gain access to technical infrastructure and support that enables a wide range of experimental environments for studies of, among other things, fish physiology, behaviour, and reproduction, says Mats.

– In addition to the high-tech water treatment systems, there are tanks and vessels of various sizes, as well as space for instrument-based studies, chemical treatments, or feed production, he continues.
