Almost three years ago, the BalticWaters2030 foundation was launched. Much has happened since then – the demonstration projects are in full swing, new research projects have been initiated and more knowledge-building programmes have started. And now the foundation’s name and logo are being updated.
“We, our partners and the media call us BalticWaters, so it felt natural to officially remove the year from the name,” says Konrad Stralka, Executive Director of the Foundation.
The year 2030 in the foundation’s name is a reference to the UN’s global goals and Agenda 2030, where the foundation’s work will contribute to four of the goals. As many thought the year was an end year for the foundation, it was decided to remove it from the name. The foundation plans to continue its work well beyond 2030.
“Of course, we will continue to work just as before – persistent, energetic and politically independent to achieve the vision of a living Baltic Sea,” says Konrad.
